If we learned anything watching “Mean Girls” on our directtv packages it’s that there’s a place for everyone when it comes to socializing. If you’re part of a group you think may be getting cliquish, we’ve got some suggestions for broadening your horizons.
Do Something New: Part of the reason you’re feeling homogenous is that you’re likely stuck in a rut. Hit up a new bar or go see a show you wouldn’t normally be interested in. Broadening your circle means first broadening your interests.
Make Everyone Bring Someone New: It’s easy to host a dinner party or other event where all of your old friends has to bring someone no one else knows. Your circle will instantly double and it will force all of you to reach out to people you want to get to know better.
Volunteer: There’s nothing like getting out in the community to help foster a feeling of giving and when you volunteer you’re bound to encounter new people. Giving back and socializing don’t have to be mutually exclusive so bring it up with your friends.
